The school year has officially started for us and the business begins. School work, sports, clubs, social events, church - and so much more! As I look at my family's schedule (which we keep purposefully light) I wonder how families have time to spend together. I mentioned before about the need for personal contact - families need personal contact also. Do you find yourselves seeing each other in passing? We cannot expect our kids to grow up with a healthy view of family without spending time - quality time - with them. As the school year is just beginning, make a choice. Yes, it will have to be a conscious choice, but it needs to be made. CHOOSE your family. CHOOSE to spend quality time with your kids. CHOOSE to make memories. And most importantly, CHOOSE to worship with your kids. Other activities are important, but not as important as time with your family.

Getting Connected

I am amazed at all the technology available now to stay connected with people. Here I am, sitting in my living room and about to connect with the parents of the kids in my ministry. We connect through Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, texts, blogs, and probably countless others that I am not even aware of!

I am thankful for this technology because it makes my job so much easier. However, I wonder if we are missing something when we don't connect personally? Kids today need personal contact and need to form authentic relationships - more today than ever before because they are connecting, primarily, through technology. This is why our Wednesday evenings are so important. During Inside Out these kids are going to be able to develop true relationships with adults who love God and love them. What an opportunity!!
